Jonathon Taylor

My name is Jonathan Taylor and I am 19 years old. As a kid growing up I had pretty much everything I wanted in both parents and a loving family. At a young age I began to go to church with my family and by doing that it was pretty much just a usual routine for me. As a kid I was always told that God had a calling on my life. Soon I became of age where church was no longer a mandatory part in my life. This meant that when my mom was going to church I either had a choice of sitting through what I thought at the time, was a long boring sermon or going out with my friends and having a good time.

I soon became adapted to just hanging out and partying. What started, as just a dare soon became a lifestyle. With the excess partying and hanging out my life began a downward spiral fast. Without realizing it, I became so numb from the drugs that I was hurting myself, my family, and most of all God.

On September 18 2008, I entered Teen Challenge not knowing where my life was going. It was there that I realized who God actually is and who I am in Him. While in TC, I enjoyed vigorous discipleship training and bible studies. While in the program I was blessed with the opportunity of taking a trip with my leaders to visit CBC. It was on that trip that God spoke to my heart that Gods will for my life is to attend CBC. So I am excited to be attending CBC this spring and to see what God has in store for me. The scripture I stand on is Isaiah 30:18 “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you, He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice blessed are all who wait on Him”.
