My name is Daniel Biordi, and for almost 25 years of my life, I was a heroin addict on the streets of New York City. I spent many of those years homeless, eating out of garbage cans, and was always in and out of jail. My life had gotten so out of control that I took a shotgun one day, stuck it into my mouth, and intensely thought of pulling the trigger to end my misery.

I had thought that my life was not worth living if I was going to live it as a drug addict-a life that was consumed by stealing, lying, and destroying not only my life, but also the lives of my wife Doreen, my two children Angelo and Michael, and all those

around me.But, there was someone who thought otherwise. While I didn't think my life was worth living, God had different plans for my life. I was told Long Island Teen Challenge could help me. I entered the Program in 1998, and my whole life turned around. Through the power of Jesus Christ and the help of the leadership at Teen Challenge, my life was restored to me, my wife and children were back in my life, and my entire outlook on life has changed.

Today, nine years later, I'm still serving God and working in the ministry of Teen Challenge. I'm currently blessed to be living with my family in Port Richiey, Florida, where I am the Facilities Manager for the Tarpon Springs, Florida, Teen Challenge Program. My life, because of Jesus Christ and this Teen Challenge Program, is truly blessed. Thank you, God, and thank you, Long Island Teen Challenge.
