Drug Awareness Teams Drug Awareness Teams are a practical way to work with our local community and gain their support of the work we do. Typically, these teams of two set up in front of a store, community center or train station with a table and literature, interact with customers in a friendly manner. We offer hope and practical solutions to people who are honestly seeking help for themselves or those whom they love.
Often times, our Drug Awareness Teams serve as our initial point of contact between someone in need or their loved ones. Because our students have personally experienced a change in their lives through the power of God’s Love they are able to reach others who would otherwise erect walls of resistance to help. They have “been there.” They know where the victims of abuse are coming from and where to point them for help. One store that sponsored us even reported a decrease in petty theft while our team was there sharing with people! Helping people, caring about our community…that’s Teen Challenge in action.
