Outreaches, Evangelism and Community Involvement

Despite the appearance of affluence in Long Island and Suffolk County New York, there are pockets of poverty and children facing extreme need all around us. Great numbers of disadvantaged, marginalized and “at risk youth” cry out for our attention. In partnership with other Teen Challenge centers across the East coast and local community groups, we maintain an innovative, multifaceted community initiative that strategically targets troubled neighborhoods across Long Island and for intervention, prevention concerts, food distribution, and

 

Furthermore, each year we distribute over 250,000 free brochures at these events and through our Drug Awareness Teams. Our goal is to reverse the course of drugs, violence, and jail by strategic intervention in the lives of young people in order to prevent them from reproducing this cycle of prison and abandonment for another generation.
